Physical Requirement:

To be eligible for direct recruitment to the post of Forest Beat Officer (FBO) or Assistant Beat Officer (ABO), candidates must meet the following physical standards:

For Male Candidates:

• Minimum height: 163 cm
• Chest (full inspiration): At least 84 cm
• Chest expansion: At least 5 cm

For Female Candidates:

• Minimum height: 150 cm
• Chest (full inspiration): At least 79 cm
• Chest expansion: At least 5 cm

Relaxations:

• Candidates belonging to Gurkhas, Nepalese, Assamese, NAFA, Naga, Manipur, Gauhati, Kummoni, Sikkimese, Bhutanese, and Scheduled Tribes are allowed a relaxation of 5 cm in minimum height.
• If there are not enough Scheduled Tribe candidates who meet the standard physical requirements, the minimum standards for them can be relaxed to:
  • Height: At least 158 cm
  • Chest (full inspiration): At least 78.8 cm
  • Chest expansion: Still at least 5 cm

Vision Requirement:

• All candidates must have normal eyesight.

Physical Endurance Test:

Candidates who pass the written exam will need to complete a walking test:

• Men: Must walk 25 km in 4 hours
• Women: Must walk 16 km in 4 hours
