Eligibility Criteria
- Qualifications: Graduate Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
- Essential Qualifications: Graduate Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
- Desirable: Knowledge of the public health system and familiarity with relevant government policies or strategies, particularly the National Health Programme and Clinical Establishment.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal matters, including at least 3 years with the government at the national or state level. Experience in handling court cases at the High Court or Supreme Court of India is required.
Salary/Stipend
- Monthly Remuneration: Rs. 50,000/- (Consolidated)
- Other Benefits: Eligible for leave, annual increments, contract extension, and TA/DA for official outstation visits as per consultant guidelines.

MOHFW Legal Assistant 2026 Recruitment out for 26 Posts Selection Process
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview before a selection committee.
- Performance of the selected candidate will be reviewed on a monthly basis.
- Unsatisfactory performance may result in termination of the contract.
General Information/Instructions
- The engagement is purely on a contractual basis for one year, extendable by an additional year based on performance.
- The Legal Assistant will have no claim to regularization of appointment.
- The candidate will be governed by the general administrative rules applicable to contractual staff of the Central Government/MoHFW.
- Biometric attendance will be maintained.
- The position is full-time, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
- The contract may be terminated by the Directorate General of Health Services (Dte.GHS)/Ministry of Health and Family Welfare at any time without assigning any reason.
- The Legal Assistant may terminate the contract by giving one month’s notice; otherwise, one month’s remuneration will be forfeited.
