Important: The notification states that unfilled vacancies are from previous Local Bank Officer recruitment exercises. A candidate can apply for one State only, and the merit list will be prepared State-wise and category-wise.

For Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, English will be accepted as the local language only for candidates who studied and passed English as one of the subjects from a school located in the respective State.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution.

The qualification must be from an institution recognized by the Government of India, appropriate government bodies or AICTE, wherever applicable. Candidates must be able to produce the relevant educational documents during the recruitment process.

Required Work Experience

Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience as an Officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India.

Experience in the clerical cadre will not be considered for determining eligibility.

The Bank will verify the experience and job profile. Candidates are required to submit experience-related documents from their current or previous employer. If the declared job profile is substantially different from the responsibilities of a Scale-I officer, the application may be rejected.

Local Language Requirement

Candidates must be proficient in the local language of the State for which they apply.

The required proficiency includes:

Candidates shortlisted in the online examination may have to qualify a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). However, candidates who produce their 10th or 12th standard certificate/marksheet showing that they studied the specified local language as a subject will not be required to undergo the LPT.

Preferred Certifications

Who Is Not Eligible?

The notification specifically excludes certain Bank of Baroda employees. Employees working in Bank of Baroda in the officer cadre or on contract basis are not eligible. Selected candidates will be placed on probation for 12 months of active service from the date of joining.

Service Bond

Selected candidates have to execute a service bond. As stated in the notification, the current bond requires the candidate to serve for a minimum of 3 years or pay an amount equivalent to three months’ gross salary, subject to a maximum of ₹2 lakh, if leaving before completion of three years of active service.
